A supremely talented songwriter, producer, dancer, actor, rapper and of course singer, Shaffer Chimere Smith is best known by his stage name Ne-Yo.
Inspired by the likes of superstars such as Usher and Michael Jackson, Ne-Yo’s live performances are a mesmerising sight as he seduces the microphone and melts the hearts of his passionate fans.
The American pop and R&B star – who was born in Arkansas but grew up in the world’s capital city of entertainment Las Vegas – released his debut album In My Own Words in 2006, featuring the beautiful ballad “So Sick”, which became a US number one hit.
A year later, Ne-Yo’s second album Because of You came out – more success following with the title track “Because of You”. Hip-hop icon Jay-Z featured on the album, whilst the singles “Can We Chill” and “Do You” had the ladies swooning over Mr Smith.
Ne-Yo’s conveyor belt of superb singles continued to produce the goods in 2008 as he put out the brilliant pair of tracks “Closer” and “Miss Independent” from his third album, Year of the Gentleman.
A fourth studio album Libra Scale hit record stores in November 2010, and saw Ne-Yo breaking more hearts and adding to his portfolio with the likes of “Beautiful Monster”, “Champagne Life”, and “One in a Million”.
